A new study published in the Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal confirmed that the HPV vaccine Gardasil has a "favorable safety profile," Slate reports.
The human papillomavirus can lead to genital warts and cervical cancer in women (which kills 4,000 women every year in the U.S.), so getting further confirmationthat it's not incredibly likely to cause you serious harm, as many anti-vaccine people have tried to argue, is huge.
This is just the latest in several studies to show there is no link between the Gardasil vaccine and serious side effects such as "autoimmune diseases (including Guillain-Barre Syndrome and multiple sclerosis), anaphylaxis, venous thromboembolism, and stroke"; ask your doctor about the vaccine, get the information, and stop being scared away from taking care of yourself.
